OCs. I am trying to draw out a bunch of dinosaur OCs i have laying around doing nothing. They were part of my nanowrimo story 2010 and i wanted to get refs down for them.

Not going into detail over the story behind them right now. Basically its about 5 kids who have dinosaur partners. Heres a bit about the characters themselves:

Dark: The third owner (there being five in total) of the protagonist group. He was abandoned as a child and lived alone for years in a mountainous forest. Living as a wild animal kept him alive (albeit stunting his growth slightly), and he came to fear and hate humans. He possesses incredible hunting skills. His eyes are the colour of night, and he prefers it when he's surrounded by dark, with no light, feeling more secure this way. Because of his past experiences and his fear of people, he feels isolated from the rest of the group.
One winter he accidentally speared a green bird, which turned out to be a prehistoric archaeopteryx, not meant to be in his time zone. The bird imprinted on him, and he named it Ky. Ky is the only being Dark cares for, and his 'connection' to the others in their team. It was Ky who gave him the name 'Dark', after he refused to reveal his true birth-name. Once rescued (or stolen?) from his mountain by the group, he was given new clothes (shown here) but chose to keep his old scarf.

Ky: A peppy feathered reptile with the ability to change shape, though spontaneous and unexpected. In his humanoid form he is the blissfully unaware type, and very 'touchy feely', never hesitant to shower Dark and the others in hugs and kisses. He hates wearing human clothing, and alot of the time can get away with just his coat of feathers. His body is slender and rather feminine, and despite being the smallest of all 5 dinosaurs, he is tall for his human age. He weighs very little, having hollow bones, and can just about fly in human form, but cannot carry others. Its easy to make him cry, but easier to cheer him up afterwards. In his mini form he is chatty (in a birdie kinda way) and displays his rainbow feathers alot.


The monster form has yet to be properly designed. This sheet just shows a basic concept.

I really love Ky's design, and the personality you describe sounds quite adorable and fitting for his appearance. I wouldn't mind knowing more about your story ^^
