EDIT: holy WOW a Daily Deviation!?? THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!

A competition entry for a local art competition. I found out today that i came 1st! The 1st prize is £250 in art vouchers. Am so happy~

The theme was childhood memories. I wanted to do a gameboy/pokemon tribute because that pretty much sums up my childhood. Also the multicoloured coffee style served well the theme of 'Colour' here so i wanted to try it. The real picture is mounted on black and arranged like this, also framed.

Hope you like it^^

And i am well aware the (in)correct spelling is 'Color' but the title is more towards the colours of the piece itself.

This is one of the most stunning things I have ever seen. Your use of colour here is exquisite, and love the splatter effect and slight sepia tone that there is to everything- it really adds to that nostalgic feeling.

I'm not surprised to hear that this was a daily deviation, or that you won the contest that you entered this in. This is a truly magnificent piece of artwork that captures the childhood of an entire generation.

You should be very proud of your work and treasure it always- you have a true gift and this clearly shows it

I absolutely can't get enough of this. When I think of my own gaming nostalgia I picture it with a warm burst of colours dusting over my memories, and you really captured those feelings in this! I love it. :heart:
Also, that tiny pikachu is adorable. :aww:

a wonderful painting! may i ask if you used the coffee as water and then tinted it with some watercolor or did you use watercolor on top?

I spread coffee (mixed with water) over the page and then added colour by dipping watercolour into it~ hope that helps. thankyou
