Woot

I want to practise painting scenery and such. As a kid i loved sonic and knuckles and lava reef zone was always my fave level. Act 1 had better music, but Act 2 was much prettier. I recently played it again and decided to do a painting of the level.

Cool to see this zone from a different camera angle, I can hear the music in my head, looking at this.
You got the tone and feel of the zone down to a T. Great work

Great transition from a 2D 16-bit tilemap to a beautiful work of art! I love the details: the floating platforms, the flamethrowers with their curved flames, the beautiful background... You even put in some gold rings! Brilliant. I would like to say, however, that the road seems a bit too unidirectional, which is normal, seeing as it was originally a 2D level, but still makes the image look a bit shallower. I think you could have explored the three available dimensions a bit more (more than the zig-zag roads on the back, and the floating platforms). However, the image is great even with this point. I would even say that the 2D-like road helps create a certain atmosphere that wouldn't be possible to create in a more 3D image.
Great drawing. ;D
